Intel(32) or AMD (64bit)

Hello.
First of all.. I guess getting 64bit is better?

I planing to build my own computer now. And I have question about CPU....
I not that familiar with 64bits so if any one can help what CPU do I need.

What I have now.

CPU Type Intel Pentium 4 560J, 3600 MHz (18 x 200)
System Memory 1024 MB (PC3200 DDR SDRAM
Video : Geforce 6600
and other stuff dont really matter.

So what kind of CPU 64bit do I need to get that will be like mine "Intel Pentium 4 3.6GHz" or more faster then that .

My budget is about 2000.

The comp I got now is about 1800, But I can return it to store 100% refund . Don't call me cheap just was saving money for good comp.

You have no excuse not to get a 64-bit processor with a budget like that. Get an AMD64 3800+ If you can afford it, get one of the new AMD64 X2 processors. They are really good and more and more games are starting to support them.
