I believe it needs to be suck in. Here's how I think fans are usually set up:

Front: Suck In
Side: Suck In
Bottom: Suck In
Top: Blow Out
Rear: Blow Out

^yep^ thats how i have mine too.
i have been thinking about reversing the side intake though to see if it will drop my 8800gt's temps. but turning the fan up didi it i think.
lol i got all scared and thought i'd have to RMA it cos it kept artifacting in COD4...lmao the fan is stuck at 30% if you dont manually set it up, and i forgot to change rivatuner when i changed drivers. i think it goes up automatically at about 100*C. brilliant i say.

Side fan should suck in and blow onto your graphics card. You have a big exhaust fan up top and the one out the back which is just fine.
