How is the 8600 Ultra thought to fight up against the 7900GT? Worth the upgrade to DX10, or no performance difference really?

I recall the 6800 Ultra being better than the 7600GS... The price sounds great but I'm curious how well it would perform.

Wow that's really something. I won't make a move until ATI gives out their roadmap also though.

Which is why I can't wait for the benchmarks. Nvidia went the Unified Shader route, so there's no way to compare the specs with previous cards.

well, people were saying that performance from cards that have direct X 10 were like direct x 9 cards running dx8.

Which only makes it even more complicated than it already is because there is no correlation between DX8-->DX9 and DX9-->DX10.

Why the heck is that thing so small!?!?

I don't see any PCI-Express Power Connectors.

Still, 8600 Ultra looks pretty sweet for the price.

so now they're going to use the Ultra name again?

why can't they just stick with one naming scheme?
