Scratch the 9800gx2, its going to be a massive flop. You'd be much better off geting 2 8800gts (g92's) or two 3870 x2's

Go for the q6600

Why buy Vista Ultimate? it's still a crap operating system, might as well save some bank and get the standard version...

Get Crucial Ballitix ram

Might as well get 2 500gb hd's for the same price and run a raid.

Also, none of your links work....

I heard two 3870 x2 aren't real good? Why not just one?

agree with you except for the Ballistix 2gb Kit, because more and more of them are single sided, which results in potentially lower overclocks

you could probably lower the 750 silencer to a 610 silencer
also i would probably go with an x38 chipset w/ a 3870 x2

Get Q6600 Retail, not OEM
Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz 2 x 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Quad-Core Processor - Retail

And wait for 9800GX2 as it is going to come out in just few days

If hes getting an aftermarket cooler then there's no point in paying retail for it, he might as well save $10
