Default info about computer cables

I bought a micro pc for a great deal knowing that it did not have a hard drive. I have hard drives so i figured i could just put one of them in it. When i went to do it though, the power cable fitting is smaller than what is on a normal desktop. Are their special made cords and hard drives for the small towers? if so, what cords and hard drive am i looking for?

Example of how it's smaller. All SATA drive minus a select few have the same cable attachments.

That is an IDE drive which requires an IDE ribbon cable and a standard 4 pin molex cable (the bottom pic).

Btw, it will be slow as hell.

There are adapters, but if the board doesn't have pata you'll be sol. Honestly your best bet is to pick up a cheap sata drive.

They make IDE to SATA converters and they are pretty cheap. They also make 4 pin molex to SATA power cables.
