It will need more than that. The Conroe's have a different power consumption rate. The power design needs to be redone on the board. Hence some board will work, but only certain revisions.

Yeah, I read up on that. One of the boards on the Intel Site under "supported motherboards", i looked on ebay to find one.
The bloke selling it said, "Don't buy this motherboard if you want to use the new conroe. That's why i bought it, but it needs more than a bios update, infact i have to solder some more parts onto the board"
What a load of bull intel's site is :confused:

I was supprised to see it show 965 chipsets, when i thought you had to have 975x. Apparently all the boards after or near the time of release of release of conroe could be compatable, otherwise 975x boards won't work...
