to run 2 hdd in one pc together do they have to be the same interface like both sata or can one be ide and the other sata.

As long as your motherboard support both types, then it should be fine. That's how I have it.

Yes...one can be either SATA or IDE. Just make sure, which ever is the OS drive, is set to master.

i have both a sata and an IDE drive in my system, and both have an OS on. I have the IDE set as master, and the sata ive never changed, so i guess thats as master too.

so yeah, you can mix'n'match sata and IDE

awesome. im buildin a new rig and have a nice big hdd from my old hp and was hoppin i could still use it.
