Well the data loss percentage = the chance of one drive crapping on you....

Don't go with Water Cooling as you are still new to this whole scene (aspire.comptech [he's our H20 Cooling Guru] recommends avoiding Water Cooling unless you really know what you are doing) ... and it limits portability some...

Alright, I might go with two 500GB HDD's in RAID 0, and 1 TB for eveything else.
Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - Internal Hard Drives
2xNewegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD5001AALS 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - Internal Hard Drives

I want to mod my case like this guy: Cosmos S Project/Build Log - XtremeSystems Forums
(The last page is sad..) D'=

I saw a video of these two guys in a garage modding cases, and painting them, and they look absolutely amazing. Search case mods on youtube, and some watercooling, it looks cool. Is it hard to do that kind of stuff, and can I do that in my garage??

Can someone tell me the differnce between these two sound cards? Which one is better, because the Creative was recommended over the HT Omega Claro+, but it has worse reviews, and I'm not sure.. And might two GTX295's cover a PCI-E slot?

Newegg.com - Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional 70SB088600002 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Express Interface Sound Card - Sound Cards
Newegg.com - HT OMEGA CLARO Plus+ 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Interface Sound Card - Sound Cards

Anyways, here is my build, but please help me fix anything that might need replacing on the list.

Newegg.com - ASUS P6T Deluxe LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards

Newegg.com - Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops

Newegg.com - Vigor Monsoon III LT Dual 120mm Fan CPU Cooler Socket 1366 Ready - CPU Fans & Heatsinks

Newegg.com - G.SKILL PI Black 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory - Desktop Memory

Newegg.com - XFX GX295NHHFF GeForce GTX 295 1792MB 896 (448 x 2)-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - Internal Hard Drives

2x Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD5001AALS 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - Internal Hard Drives

Newegg.com - LG Black 6X BD-R 2X BD-RE 16X DVD+R 6X Blu-ray DVD-ROM 4MB Cache SATA Internal Blu-ray Burner Super Multi Blu-ray Disc Burner & HD DVD-ROM Drive Model GGW-H20L - Blu-Ray Burners

Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-1000HX 1000W ATX12V 2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply - Power Supplies

Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER COSMOS S RC-1100-KKN1-GP Black Aluminum ATX Full Tower Computer Case - Computer Cases
Can someone recommend me some fans? I would prefer to have some blue fans, descent airflow, yet low noise. I'd also like some lights on my case, like a long skinny lightbulb, that's also blue, but I don't want one that flickers. Also, I would like a LCD temp display. I don't know how to choose these, so please help.

Newegg.com - Silverstone FP35B USB 2.0 Card Reader with extra silver front panel - Card Readers
I know Silver Stone is a good brand, but any other recommendations? All of the other card reader look cheap, and low quality, so I picked this. The Asus P6T only has one fire wire port, and one E-Sata, so I can only put it on the Cosmos S panel, or card reader..

Newegg.com - Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 64-bit for System Builders - Operating Systems
ShouldI get Windows 7, later? Can I upgrade for free, or do I have to buy it, because I heard you get SP2 for free.

Bump.. =.=

Here are some accessories to pimp my case. (Reference to Pimp My Ride ~.-)

Newegg.com - NZXT SEN-001LX Sentry LX Aluminum dual bay fan controller - Controller Panels

Newegg.com - LOGISYS Computer CLK12UV 12" UV COLD CATHODE KIT - Case Accessories
Where should I mount this? I want to place it near the HDD's, but I don't know if it will fit. I want it to reflect my GTX295, & CPU cooler. =D

5x Newegg.com - Antec 761345-75120-9 120mm Case Fan - Case Fans
For the top of the case, back, and the front.

Newegg.com - AeroCool XtremeTurbine-Black 120mm Case Fan - Case Fans
Under HDD's

Newegg.com - Scythe SY1225SL12M 120mm "Slipstream" Case Fan - Case Fans
For eveywhere else, which I forgot..

Oh man.. that's a lot of mney to spend to make your case look cool.. Is there anything that I'm missing, or even any suggetions to add on? better parts to replace would be nice.:snob:

I will also get this: Home Theater PowerCenter™ HTS 950 with Clean Power™ Stage 1

Everything looks great to me. Are you located in the US?(your location states irack) because newegg doesnt ship to anything other than the US, but also has a Canadian website as well. If you live elsewhere, you might need to cruise about other websites. Just a heads up.

lol, I live in O.C. which is in Calfornia. They made a show about it.

Anyone else more reliable?? No offense Corpse, but you have under 20 posts. :freak:

Ok, I really need to pick a sound card, because I want to finish up my build. I'm leaning toward the HT Omega Claro+, because of its good reviews, but I also like the Asus Xonar, because it is newer technology, and has a good reputation.

Here's my receiver:
STR-DG1000 | REFURBISHED - 7.1 Channel Surround Sound A/V Receiver | Sony | SonyStyle USA

Here are the sound cards:
Newegg.com - HT OMEGA CLARO Plus+ 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Interface Sound Card - Sound Cards
Newegg.com - Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional 70SB088600002 7.1 Channels 24-bit 96KHz PCI Express Interface Sound Card - Sound Cards
Newegg.com - ASUS Xonar Essence STX Virtual 7.1 Channels 24-bit 192KHz PCI Express Interface 124 dB SNR / Headphone AMP Card - Sound Cards
Newegg.com - AuzenTech AZT-FORTE X-Fi Forte 7.1 Low Profile PCI Express Sound Card - Sound Cards

Is there any way to make these headphones fit my head better? They hurt my ears, because they are slightly too tight, but I found a review, where the guy out the Sennheiser headphones around a pillow, and it streched to fit his head, but that was the 650 something.. I didn't buy it, but I've use it.
Newegg.com - SENNHEISER HD 280PRO 3.5mm Connector Circumaural PROFESSIONAL Headphone

I also heard about TV tuners, but I don't know what they're exactly used for.. I know they record stuff, they but do they record gameplay? Also I picked this one out, if you guys find a better one, please list it.
Newegg.com - ASUS My Cinema-PHC3-100/NAQ/FM/AV/RC TV Tuner Card PCI Interface - TV Tuners & Video Devices

I found this mic, it looks good, nice reviews.
Newegg.com - Logitech 980186-0403 Silver USB Connector USB Desktop Microphone

I might move my computer into my son's room one day, so if I ever need speakers, are these good? I might just build a dual core for him.. :tounge:
Newegg.com - Logitech Z-5500 505 Watts 5.1 Speaker - Speakers

Should I get the G11 or Eclipse 2?
Newegg.com - Logitech G11 Silver & Black 104 Normal Keys 29 Function Keys USB Standard Gaming Keyboard - Keyboards
Newegg.com - Saitek PK02 2-Tone 104 Normal Keys USB Standard Eclipse II Keyboard - Keyboards

I have the MZ518, and I would like to upgrade to the G5, is there anything better?
Newegg.com - Logitech G5 2-Tone 7 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Laser 2000 dpi Mouse - Mouse

Finally, a mouse pad!
Newegg.com - RAZER Goliathus Alpha RZ02-00210100-R3M1 Mouse Pad-Speed - Full Multi Language - Mouse Pads & Accessories

I want to get my build guys... please confirm the little things, so I can buy everything. Can I pick it up from the warehouse? I live like an hour away from Whittier, is that where newegg warehouse is? I heard it was there.

Is this the address?
Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!

omfg.. I'm about to go to another forum! Please I see others get their questions answered quick, and I'm losing my patience.

Firstly, don't be so impatient, we'll get to the thread eventually...

Secondly, post count isn't something to go by when it comes to advice, I mean if we did that things would be screwy..

Now to the questions...

- Sound cards is something to be left to the Audio Section of the forum
- Headphones I've never used before, best ask Ricanflow since he actually owns those exact pair
- TV Tuner is used to watch TV on your comp (with the death of Analog, I don't know if these will still be useful) , but streaming sites can do that too, and you don't need a tuner card...
- The record games is a "Video Capture Card" and that's for like X360 or PS3, if you have to record a PC game, FRAPS can do that
- Gaming Mice is determined by your gaming style (like the shape of your hand when you play)
- Keyboard is something to do based on your preference
- The Address will be fine, but Newegg has multiple warehouses in North America, you can't be exactly sure it'll come from there..
- Ahh you are from the OC, ya I know that show somewhat, my sister watches that out here on SoapNET when we do HW

Not at all, for the most part, you can put together the parts for a cpu water cooling loop for about $250 without any trouble. Also most water coolers use pure distilled water @ $1 a gallon as coolant and simply add some aquarium biocide to keep anything from trying to grow in it.

Have you ever used real water cooling? If you haven't please don't give advice relating to it.

On a recent tangent, I just pushed my e6600 Core 2 past the 4ghz mark. Needless to say I was pushing 50C on load with a 18C ambient, try doing that with air cooling.

It's an older chip. Bought it in Late 06.

In my opinion, I think it's better than any other Core 2 chips prior to the change to the 45nm process
