You really shouldn't be worried unless you have 4870X2's in crossfire. Remember 8x PCIe 2.0 is equal to 16x PCIe 1.0

Well yeah, it does have an advantage, but the question is, how much of an advantage is it and is it worth the money. I tend to think its not.

x48s were just binned to be guaranteed to 400fsb.....

However, many X38s clock just as well if not higher.
