cheers for the advice folks. We have a bank holiday tomorrow so I doubt this shop will be open, but I've told her to go back with her boyfriend and tell them the temps, even get them to run coretemp/HWMonitor, maybe take a printscreen printed out as I think this shop messes people about. So I expect they'll fix what is probably an improperly attached heatsink for her...for free.
