You can game on an i3 3220 better than you can on an FX 4100 or 4300. You can game on older dual cores as well.

We're worried about longevity here. (IIRC you built your computer recently. We're talking about years down the road)

A blown PSU has a chance of taking out an entire computer and it isn't something that should be skimped on. Antec and Corsair have proven track records (In fact, I have two Antec and one Corsair. The antec is over five years old now!)
