I/O Error on NEW HARDDRIVE! help!

Ok, I just built a new computer with a new 120 GB SATA II HD, when I go to install programs it gives me an I/O Error saying the file is bad. Can anyone give me any solutions or suggestions? The know all the files are right and not corrupted (like the drive said)- HELP!

Have you installed the OS already? Try installing the programs on a different computer and see if you get the same error.
