Total – $1153.

The prices should be more or less accurate. This will max out Sims 2, and any other game you have, guaranteed. You have $1300, so this leaves room for Shipping and Handling and any taxes.

I would suggest a better PSU Though...

the zalman is awsome fan btw.. but will that case be big enough? its rather a small case.. he should go with the cheap thermaltakes out there so i think..

And last thought... if he doesn't plan to play some massive heavy FPS games like BF2 and stuff like that [or heavier?] then he can live with the 7800 GT, so I think.. at least

I would get rid of the CNPS9500, back the video card down to a 7600GT. Then with the rest you can buy a nice LCD Monitor to play your games on :D

The system Green Radience came up with is awesome, but overkill for what you need.

I left the processor out because I am going to leave this decision up to you. The first is the AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ for $297. The second is the AMD Athlon 64 3700+ for $235. The Athlon X2 is a dual core processor. If you do a lot of multitasking, then you will deeply benefit from the dual core. If you don't then you may enjoy the Athlon 64 3700+. Personally I recommend the dual core, but that's because I do a lot of multitasking on my computer.

Total with Athlon 64 X2 3800+ – $1014
Total with Athlon 64 3700+ - $952

Someone also recommended getting a better power supply. I would have looked for a better one, but I am lost when it comes to power supplies.

Overkill? People, have you played SIMS 2? Way back when, it ate up any GeForce 6 card, including the 6800Ultra (which is what the 7600GT is, effectively). And whats wrong with spending $50 more and getting almost twice the graphics power?

Recommended suggestions;

- Better Power Supply. - The Forton is one of the best ones out there, and should be more than enough to handle his system specs, including that 7900GT. But since he has money to burn;

Antec Truepower 550W.

- Bigger case - Its fine. He doesn't exactly have a $1500 budget, so a cheaper case is needed. And its a good case to boot, not something to be concerned with.

- 7800GT - The 7900GT is pocket change more than the 7800GT. And with the performance of a 7800GTX, I can't believe you'd even consider changing it. And a 7900GT in a $1150 system is...almost unheard of buddy.

Mole; Nope. He wants playable framerates at max graphics? He wants that. And have you not read his first post? He has 5 other games, and if they're anything like Sims 2, he'll want that. And what do you people think, he's never going to buy another game as long as he lives? Come on people, I don't make mistakes like this.

Ok thanks everyone but am going to go over everyones post to re-read what has been said and click on the links.

P.s Am a girl
