Intel has created a dufus situation: Multiple reports of inaccurate core temp reports on the Wolfdale. Here is the deal. I Run CoreTemp: @ oc 4bgz 1.38 v core and 2.1 v mem Prime 95 stable. Okay! Here is the hoot:
resitng c0 = 61C
c1 = 44c 17 dgrees differance which is not accurate!
Prine 95 c0 = 51 c
c1 = 48 c It runs 10 degrees cooler under load!!! LOL
Now, the TJmax is running at 95 not 105 as it should report. So I'm guessing that my actual temps are 41 and 38 c under full load at 4.04 ghz. Now that is totally right on. I have been using a lapped Arctic Freezer Pro. I will be Water Cooling this next week and I will attemp to run it at 4.4ghz at the same temps. So, if you have an E8400, ignore high core temp reports as that are sensor fubars! Mine screams a 4.04 ghz and runs only warm to the touch...yep I can touch the edge of the cpu and it's only warm.
Update Super pi = 11.04 for 1 meg. Whoo Hooo!
