Hello techies... need your expertise. I am new to this forum so please be kind;)

I will try and keep this as short as possible.

I have a server running server 2008 R2 with hyper v installed and a virtual network adapter that is bridged to my Physical for the VMs.

I also have a Windows 7 PC and both are connected to a Cisco Managed Switch.

I can ping and telnet to my switch from the Windows 7 PC.

But I cannot ping or telnet to the switch from the server.

I also cannot ping my servers IP address from my windows 7 PC or from my switch.

although when i run;

3550switch# show mac-address table dynamic

the physical and virtual servers mac addresses are listed.

I have completely turned off windows firewall and still cannot get any connection from my server.

the switch port is configured as a Access port and i have tried it as a trunk.

all ports are configured vlan 1 and all ip addresses are static.
:mad:

any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Win7 = Windows 7 PC
Win2K8 = Server

Can you ping Win7 from the Win2K8?
Does Win2K8 have ICMP blocked?
Does Win2K8 have access to the Router?
Does Win2K8 have access to her internet?
Is the Static IP on Win2K8 setup properly?
including a functioning dns server and a gateway
Are they all on the same subnet?
