Newbie here trying to resolve a HTPC cooling situation.
I have a HP m9360f PC I am using for a HTPC.
I want to leave it running inside my wooden stereo cabinet but I am concerned with it overheating. I have two large (2 lead) computer fans mounted in large holes I cut in the cabinet, one blowing in and one out to circulate the air.
What I want to do is have these fans come on when the system fan of the PC comes on...and go off at the same time too.
Some parameters
1) The PC needs to stay on so the kids can just click the Media Center remote and go, rather than booting up and logging in to a TV screen as the monitor when they want to use the HTPC.
2) I do not want the fans running off the power supply directly bcuz they will be on all the time and the are a bit noisy and redundant as the HTPC is not used as often as the TV.
3) I cannot seem to find a fan controller accessory that can take the signal from the sys-fan header to drive the other fans...all are independant
4) Do not want a splitter cable on the mobo sys-fan header as it may fry it.
5) MOBO (IPIBL-LB) has only 1 sys-fan header
Does anyone know of a device that will take the sys-fan signal from the board and then split that signal properly to drive multiple fans?
I have free bays if needed.
