Hey,
I am putting together an HTPC build to hopefully complete in the next 3 months.
As I am a bit dated with current PC configurations, I was looking for a little input.
What it needs to do:
HTPC for watching movies on 60" 1080p TV. No serious gaming.
Once my home theater room is finished it will also run the sound system. (another project with a 1 year completion goal)
Quiet. Here I will sacrifice power for less noise.
What I have:
hard drives o plenty. WD black 1 and 2TB
DVD Drives
Case
Seasonic 350w 80
OS
What I need:
mATX board would prefer built in WiFi if not low profile WiFi card.
Can we still get them with ISA slots?
CPU (Intel fanboy but does not matter if an AMD will outperform)
Perhaps after market cooler?
RAM DDR1 if possible
GPU (if necessary)? Low profile
Sound card (if necessary)? low profile
Budget:
Not really an issue. Will spend more to reduce sound but I do not need to break the bank as there will not be high demands upon this rig.
