Default How's this rig

I am on a $500 budget for a video card,cpu,mobo,memory

ASUS M2V Socket AM2 VIA K8T890 ATX AMD Mobo
$88.99

SAPPHIRE 100106-RD Radeon X850XT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card
$164.00

CORSAIR XMS2 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM Unbuffered DDR2 675 (PC2 5400) System Memory
$99.99

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Orleans 2000MHz HT 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 Processor

For $500, that's a pretty good build. Everything looks compatible. Not sure of X850XT's performance versus the 7600GT. You may want to look at the 7600GT as an option as well.

k thanks for the advise so far, I will put in a 7600 and I also have a memory question. If a mobo can support DDR2 800 ram, cant it also function with any other memory that is lower than 800? Like ddr2 400?

you can get one gig of DDR2 ram on newegg for far less than $99.99. the G.SKILL ram is $70, I believe.

just pointing it out, because budget is a big consideration in you machine
