how much speed do i need?

hi guys i got a question here.

what is the ideal internet speed for gaming pc? im going to subscribe internet at charter communications. they offer 1mbps for $20.00/month 8mbps for $30.00/month 16mbps for $40.00/month. you think 1mbps is good enough for gaming? mostly play DOTA.

1Mbps is probably sufficient, but i would get the 8 Mbps just in case...

I am running Insight Broadband which is 10Mbps and I still get lag. Of course it could be on the other end and the fact that I am running wireless internet.

If you can afford it, I would get the 16Mbps. That is still cheaper than what we get charged for Insight.
