How much better are these ATI 6k's over the 5k's?

I have been out of the building scene for a long time and just today happen to stop over at newegg to see the price on a 5870 just for kicks. I noticed a 6k series is out now. How much better are the 6870 over the 5870?

I noticed they have a "Mini Display Port". What is a a mini display port used for?

Are these actually better then the 5k series? They seem cheaper so that is odd.

The http://www.techist.com/forums/f76/graphics-performance-list-212331/ has most if not all the newer cards now, so check it out to see how they rank. I think the biggest difference between the 5xxx and 6xxx series is a die shrink and maybe a tweak or three, possibly running cooler too.

Mini Display Port is a new interface, but there are not many native monitors for it and they are not cheap. You can get adapters for the port to make use of Eyefinity (three+ monitors), though.
