It has been quite a while since I built a system from the ground up. All of this stuff should be here on the 26th so I can't change it, but I am curious if there might have been something else I should have gone with. I didn't have a budget, but I can't really see buying the most expensive stuff just to have it. If something is significantly cheaper and can give you almost the same performance then I see that as a good buy. This computer will be used primarily for gaming, BF2 mostly.

Thanks for any opinions on my system, I can't wait to build it.

but I can't really see buying the most expensive stuff just to have it.

With two Raptors...?

Nice choices, though.

Any reason you didn't go with the 7800 GTX?

I see what you mean about the Raptors but they only came out to $200 for both and I have another computer that I store all of my data on. I also have a 300gb external Hard drive if I need. I am hoping I will see an increase in load times for my games with the faster hard drives.

I didn't go with the 7800GTX because of everything I have read on this and other forums. The cost increase over the GT didn't seem to make sense for only a little more preformance. Also, with the release of the new 7900 or whatever they are going to call it sometime this year, I figured if I am not happy with the GT I can always upgrade.

On a side note, ordering from Newegg was wonderful. I originally ordered this system on Sunday but because I am having it shipped to a location other than my billing address on the credit card, the order didn't get charged until yesterday. During that time I noticed the AMD 4400 went from $497 to $470. I called them today and they are going to credit my card $25 dollars. They will definitely have my business again, they could have easily told me "tough luck". Pretty cool IMO.

Newegg is the greatest. I had 2 identical gigabyte motherboards that were BOTH dead on arrival. I was flamin mad... The box had to get struck by lightning or something. Neither of them showed any signs of life, whatsoever. I couldn't even understand the gigabyte help representative. So I called up newegg and had an RMA clearence in less than 5 minutes. Full refund. I won't spend my money anywhere else.
