What are the advantages of taking that/those builds over the build I chose?

Cut me slack, keep in mind I've been out of the technology loop for a while now, I dont see where that processor couldn't outperform anything already listed, yeah its older because its socket 939, but would these other builds outperform it?

Yes they would. I'm not sure on the AM2 build, but the C2D build sure can.
