im just curious as to monitors i have around the house *all CRTs, 1 LCD*, n all of them r 50, 60Hz.

once i get a better LCD monitor for myself, should i have the input frequency to 75Hz or no?

From what I heard, the higher the better it is. I also hear that having a higher refresh rate is easier on the eyes.

On smaller CRT monitors like 14"'s theres not much difference above 60–72 Hz. On larger CRT monitors like 17-19" you would probably get head aches a lot and your eyes would start hurting after awhile unless the refresh is set to a more comfortable 85 Hz or higher. 100 Hz is a good comfortable settings for most people at least for me.

LCD monitors arnt like the CRT's and the refresh rate simply does not mean the same. LCD monitors provide excellent quality and resolution at 60 Hz. The more important things you want to look for in a LCD monitor is its Response Time, Image Brightness and Image Contrast Ratio.
