yes... but don't get RAID1, get a RAID5 array (or should I say create one) because it has both Security and Performance

looking at how the kits are priced, ($400 for a nice 2gb kit) I'd say so. If you want fast ram get transcend's 1200mhz axeram 5-5-5-15

haha phase change cooler is too insane for this rig. I'll post a final idea for specs soon i'm trying to decide whether or not we should get him 64bit OS's and 4GB of ram or 32bit OS's and 2GB of ram. Opinions?

I think two gigs is enough. Depends on what you do. I use 2 gb for music production and it hasn't slowed me down. Although 4 would be nice
