Default Hi-Fi speakers directly to my computer

Griffin Tech used to make a product called the ProSpeaker that would allow you to connect a set of hi-fi speakers directly to the computer, I attached a picture of what it looks like.

Does anyone know of a similar product that I could use to connect a nice pair of bookshelf speakers to my desktop?
I would rather not have to go through my receiver to do this, would prefer a direct connection.

It looks like pretty nice product, but are the speakers powered?
If not they will be very quiet.

Nope, are there any sound cards out there that provide powered line outs? I know the Digital Audio G4 and the flat panel iMac had powered ports, anything to give this to the PC?

Yet again the mighty power of google (froogle) has found that exact same product.

not so sure if the websites have good service but it's there.

to bad that its out of stock
I would rather go through the rciver anyway. just a rca to mini would suffice(just make sure its stereo mini)

A receiver would work, but I'm at college and have limited space .
I actually dont have my receiver out here and I would rather not bring it out here, limited space as stated above and I drive a Wrangler, and it has limited space as well.
So I would prefer to get a solution to allow me to connect a pair of bookshelfs directly to my PC.

why not a cheap pair of stereo speakers. if you are pushed for space, thats probably best.

I already have a pair of nice logitechs, but I prefer the even nicer bookshelfs that I have at home.

Also no offense but suggesting someone to buy a pair of cheap stereo speakers when they want hi-fi bookshelfs (along the lines of these http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/products/rti4/ or these http://www.infinitysystems.com/homea...prod=BETA10BKS) is like suggesting to buy a Focus when the customer asked for a 3-series.

Looks like I'm leaning towards these...
