Haha. Probably going with the Asus then. A bit disappointed in the fact it only has 6 USB ports though.

Well you'll get 2 more as I'm sure your case has a header in the front.

It does. But one is a USB 3.0. And it seems to go through a cable to the back of the case, to be plugged into a USB 3.0. So 1 more, not 2.

Do you think it's possible/easy to use an internal header instead of that cable?

If they have a cable then unfortunately no unless you change the whole header.
