Help me build a 1,000 budget gaming machine (No overclocking)

The title says it all. I was thinking about upgrading my eMachine T3120 as you may of seen in my previous thread, but I've decided to see how building my own system will be.

Please list the most "bang for my buck" hardware. I need a monitor, mouse, keyboard, I need everything... 1,000 dollars. Let's see if you can do it!

eVGA GeForce 7900GS 256mb
150gb WD Raptor

That's a good system for the money IMO, considering the great price on 2gb of fast 800MHz DDR2 G.SKILL RAM.

EDIT: Okay, all of that stuff above adds up to exactly $1,000.97, including shipping and tax. So what I say you should do is get that stuff and scrounge up a cheap, crappy case, keyboard, CRT, and mouse. Save up for that aesthetic stuff and then finish it off later. By the way, Lite-On makes great cheap keyboards.

I've had this problem before and I got it working by e-mailing it to myself and copying the link, or accessing the wish list from the public wish lists tab and copying that link.

I'm really not in need of a high gigabyte storage hard drive, that's one thing that many people cannot live without but I have no problem coping with. Typically I uninstall everything and anything I don't use/need, and I have a 30gb mp3 player, so music/video files aren't even stored on my computer.

I'm not really understanding which (if my budget is 1,000 dollars) CPU and Socket I fall under.. I'm just not up to date on the whole computer hardware stuff.
