Hello, I've been searching around to find some parts that I would like to get for a new computer that I would like to at least have the parts ordered for by the new year. I am trying to build a decent computer that will last me a while without having to upgrade it (or if any, not that much). I'm looking to stay in the vicinity of $1500-2000, but I'd like to stay on the lower end of that spectrum. I'm going to be using the computer for some gaming, movie watching, school work, movie editing, and some music writing. Here's what I have picked out now:

If I calculated right, that should come out to about $1596.32 with shipping and handeling and after all rebates. I'm just wondering if everything is compatible with each other. I might overclock a little bit, but I'm not really computer savy or anything, so I wont be pushing anything to the limits. Is that case alright for what I've picked out? If not, what is a better case that I could look at that's not super expensive? Also, is that motherboard alright? I've been trying to find a good motherboard that would support that RAM but without the Wi/Fi, because I don't think I'll need the Wi/Fi (at least not just yet). So I don't want to pay for something I'm not going to use. Anyway, if anyone has any feedback on this set-up I'd greatly appreciate it, I feel a little out of my league here, so I'm hoping that some people here can help me out. Thanks again.

Go for a nVidia 680i chipset motherboard. They're a little bit more expensive, but leave the Intel chipsets in the dust.

Everything else looks good.

Don't forget the OS.

Trotter makes a good point. That PSU is a little overkill though, unless you can get a good deal on it. Overall I would take her home if I met her at the bar tonight. hehe

Thanks for the idea, so do you think a 600W PSU would be sufficient? I was thinking of the 700W just to be a little more future proof, but if it's not really necessary then I'll go for the OCZ 600W PSU instead then. So what is this other motherboard that you suggested? I'm pretty clueless about this stuff (I'm learning as I go), so I don't know much difference between things. This is what you're talking about right? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813188009
This one seems pretty good, but like I said, I don't know much. Thank you for your help so far.

Is this case a decent one? I like it more than the Tsunami that I picked out before, but I'm wondering if anyone has it or has had any experiences with it that might help shed some light on whether I should chose this one instead.

Just did a build with alot of the same parts you are going with, and are very happy with the results.

Have fun and enjoy your new pc.

Thanks, I'm very excited to get everything and get it built so I can use it. No matter what I get, it's going to be a HUGE upgrade from what I'm using right now (my graphics card is a geforce FX 5500 256mb, just to give an idea of my computer). Anyway, I'm just a little skeptical about the case mostly, I don't want to get one that isn't going to fit everything. I hear that the newer graphics cards are longer than the old ones, so I'm getting a little scared of not having the room in a case. I really like the Antec Performance One P180B Black case, but I'm not sure if it will have enough room. I'm also really going to need some good ventilation/cooling because I keep my room pretty warm (between 80-90 degrees Farenheit).
