HD4870 or GTX260?

Which of these should i get for my gaming rig? People have been telling me to get the HD4870 512mb but someone else has said i should get the GTX260, they seem to cost roughly the same....the Gtx 260 is like £20 more and my budget is already stretched lol..

GTX 260... because they fold faster and have the Physics effect already enabled increasing some performance some

At stock though the HD 4870 is faster

Ok Zotac GTX 260 896MB DDR3 is only £10 more then the Hd4870 512mb. Is it actually better then the HD4870 512mb? I just want to play my RTS games on high settings for as long as possible, lol.( don't know how demanding RTS games are, hopefully the card would last two years but i guess thats a stretch)

Get the HD 4870. It is faster than the GTX 260 in most games.

Oh I thought you meant for new games..

Old games have little to no Physics support, ya, you're good with an HD 4870

^^ I doubt PhysX will ever have widespread support with Intel and AMD/ATI both pushing HAVOC.

oh well yes kinda new games too i guess...

Basically what i want to play at the moment is:

Supreme Commander( which has Quad support so im getting a Q6600)
C&C3
Starcraft 2( when it comes out)
Red Alert 3( when it comes out)
Spore

that's all i can think of, i only really do RTS games, i'd probably buy a new graphics card in about a year and a half, hopefully it will handle games for that long.

Honestly, either one will be fine. I wouldn't stress over it too much.

Either one will be fine for awhile with those titles; go with the 4870 since it's cheaper.
