Default HD4870 1GB VS. GTX 260 Core 216

My video card budget is maximum $350.

Ive been leaning toward the ATI card, but a friend of mine told me the 260 is better.

Ive been looking around Newegg Canada , but there are ALOT to choose from. Anyone here have an idea as to the best bang for my buck?

Thanks alot.

I guess the 260 is slightly better

They perform roughly the same, one card does better in 1 game the other card better in another.

I would grab this card...
Newegg.ca - POWERCOLOR AX4870 1GBD5-PPH Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

otherwise if I was choosing the 260 I'd probably go for this one:
Newegg.ca - XFX GX260NADBF GeForce GTX 260 Black Edition Core 216 896MB 448-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

Newegg is still US isn't it?

If you've delt with ncix, they're Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat.

But due note, i haven't dealt with newegg, just from interweb reading.

Newegg ships to canada now.

Newegg.ca - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!

And by the way, does your board support SLI or Crossfire? Or neither?

I'd go with the GTX, personally, but it would be nice to know what your board supported for multi-gpus.

The HD 4850x2 is faster than either the GTX 260 or HD 4870 if you don't mind a dual gpu card.

Newegg.ca - SAPPHIRE 100260SR Radeon HD 4850 X2 1GB 512-bit (2 x 256-bit) GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
