Radeon HD 3870 /w QX9650 Preliminary Test - VR-Zone IT & Lifestyle Forum!

3dmark 06 scores.

and like the other guy said:

Gotta give AMD credit for trying to use creativity and flexibility to overcome the lack of performance in their GPUs. Things like:

Mixed mode crossfire
quad crossfire
two GPUs on one card
Independent overclocking
Lower heat & power draw

Noticed both the 3870 and 3850 only need the 6 pin pci-e connector.

Not bad. Not far from the 8800GT.

wow.. I hope ATi makes better drivers.. because this barely beats out the hd2900xt.. and this is supposed to be the top of their latest driver line..

catylst 7.11 should be out soon, what i like the most though is crossfiring a 3870 with a 3850, you should get very similar performance to 2 3870's.

ATI could do good with these cards if they could figure out a way to get crossfire to work a lot better. Like having 2 cards give 75%+ performance. Assuming Nvidia doesn't figure that out to. Probably won't see that anytime soon though...

actually.. from what I've seen.. Crossfire is great in scaling than SLi..

remember the former 3dmark06 World Record... it was a war between an 8800ultra SLi and a hd2900xt in CF... the Crossfire hd2900xt won a lot because of the CF.. and the hd2900xt is a bit weaker in performance than the Ultra.....
