when is it supposed to be out??? i thought it was like last week, but it isn't on newegg :?

also, when are the new 1 gig 2900xt's coming in, and when will the xtx ever come out...?

I believe the HD 2600 series, along with the HD 2400 series, are coming out July 1st. Or I think I've read July 14, according to Wikipedia. So around July basically. I've also heard they're planning on releasing the XTX on the 65nm, with the 1GB version of the 2900XT, later this year.

The HD 2900XT is on the 80nm. If the XTX does come out, I think they're going to release it, as the HD 2950XTX since it's kinda like a revision.

they already do the 2900 xt kicks the 8800 gts butt clean. And it even beats out the 8800GTX in some cases, although not enough to grant it the 8800's GTX title.

Well, your very true, it's just ATI isn't the best when it comes to good clean drivers. heck, with the drivers that came with my x1600pro, i couldn't play oblvion, all the textures were missing, and the screen was blue (not a BSOD...)

Yea...every new driver version that has been released, has improved it's performance.

I have a feeling when the 2950xtx/2900xtx or whatever it is, comes out, it will kill... 2900xt 1gb gdrr4, that should be good, too. lets just hope the 2600xt is the next 7600gt, after a month or so with the drivers improving...

ya.. the 7600gt was a nice card... midrange, and pretty darn cheap!!
