The challenge is to design a computer system. It will be just a tower, no display, mouse, keyboard, etc. However, You have a budget. The idea is to build the computer for one of the following purposes:
  • Gaming
  • Digital Art
  • OverClocking ( components for general use/gaming, but with the idea for extreme OC'ing to boost them)
  • Looks (must be used for general tasks, but look cool)
That's right build a system with one of these objectives in mind. Oh yes, your budget is $600 USD. :D

Good luck Tech Forum Users .

Rules:

You must use one of the following sites; Newegg.com, Mwave.com, Tigerdirect.com, monarchcomputer.com, or, you may use another site that is 'respectable' and/or from another country, if you provide what the price would be in USD.

You may count rebates as the price, but not sales. (ie Newegg's weekend sales)

Please keep to a format like the below example-

CPU- AMD Sempron sAM2 3600+ ($122)
Mobo- Biostar G6100 sAM2 mobo ($67)
RAM
GFX card
Hard Drives
Optical (cd/dvd drives)
Case
power supply (psu) (if case does not include one)
Cooling
Other (panels, etc.)

Price Rules- always round up.

Got it? Good. Get to work!!!!

I tried to cover all the bases for this system. I'm sure you'd be able to do digital art, play games, OC, and have a sweet looking computer with this setup...all at the same time.

Sorry for not following the format, but I'm really tired and this seemed easy enough to read. :D

Hmm just change over to a
Sapphire X1600pro
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102651

Then change the mobo to an MSI K8N NEO4-F, or a DFI UT NF4 ultra-D for extreme overclocking

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813136152

Defintely change to some OCZ plats

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146890

OCZ + DFI = awesome overclocking experience.

And then with the leftover cash if any :p, Upgrade the stock cooler to a CNPS9500, or Thermaltake Big Typhoon. And be sure that any overclocker wants AS5 for their CPU/GPU

all from newegg:

MSI K9N Neo-F - $79.99

Sempron 3400+ socket AM2 - $97.99

Sapphire X1600 Pro - $99

2x512MB OCZ Gold DDR2-800 - $107.98 (2 x $53.99)

200GB Seagate SATA - $84.99

BenQ 16X DVD burner - $31.99

Cooler Master 430W PSU - $33.99

ENERMAX CS-5271LBFS-B Black - $34.99

total = $570.93

Nice list, but that goes over the budget...the video card would still work though.
