Hey i was just wondering how you would totally wipe everything off of a hardrive? OS, Programs everything...how would i do it? thanks.

depends on what you are wanting to do...lol

If say, you want to give a drive to a relative or trusted friend and it's a support drive...you could merely select all and delete, or quick/full format.

OR if you are giving to an unknown or not so trusted person, or someone who you think might find out what you were doing with it before, ie., porn and didn't want to be embarassed....

If you had this as a main drive with the OS, I'd suggest making it a support drive in an existing system, you don't neccessarily have to mount it inside to do this if cables are long enough. Do a full format. Then make/create/copy a large file enough times to fill it and then delete. I suggest doing this 3 times with 3 different files, iel., 1st time a large video file, 2nd time a random dbase file of some sort (or music collection), 3rd large data files from games...delete and do a 2nd full format.

THEN, from there, reconfigure and reboot with this as a master system drive and do a bios format. Which I'm sure your bios will support.

Now you should be good to go...if that's the type of wipe you were thinking of. Of course they have commercial apps for this as well. ;)
