Is there a noticable difference in gaming using a 10,000 rpm hdd than a 7200 one. Because its ether i buy the 10,00rpm raptor that has the (Western Digital Raptor WD740GD 74GB 10,000 RPM Serial ATA150 Hard Drive - OEM )

or a normal hdd thats 7200 RPM and save 80 bucks or more.

Yes, there is a big difference. There is a big difference between 5.4k and 7.2k drives, and thats only a 1.8k difference. The difference between 7.2k and 10k is 2.8k, so it will be an even bigger difference.

o, well i cant afford getting something to cool it tho, like that 10,000 one says it gets hot easy and youll need something to cool it.

youll defently notice a big diffrence , but raptors arent so quiet , and their price/capacity ratio is very high you can get a 7200rpm hd with a much bigger capacity for half of the price

yeah i have a 5.4k and a 7.2k and the 7.2k is alot faster and i wish i would've got 2 of the 7.2k.
