Hard drive question.

Ok, I understand that but that is like comparing apples to oranges. In hdd they are all pretty similar right? No other hdd is much faster than another, unless you go to raptor and all the real expensive ones.

For a high capacity/low cost drive the Blacks are pretty much as good as it gets from a performance standpoint.

The drives Kmote mentioned are why I avoided calling any of the conventional drives fast since they are unbelievably slow in comparison. Sorry if that caused any confusion.

Someone just said on another forum that the samsung f3 is the best by far. True?

better by far is a bit of a stretch. With their 2 500gb platters vs the 3 platters in the WD they will be a bit faster but hardly noticeable in the real world. Go with the brand you trust as they are both excellent drives.
