I'm wanting to upgrade a bit earlier than I had planned... I wanted to do it this summer preferably but I'm looking into selling my 2x msi 8800gt and buying a 260 216core and asking if the performance will be a considerable increase.. I'm certain it will by benchmarks but even so I currently hit 16k with 3dmark06, this new ocz reaper ram doesn't seem to be cutting it compared to my corsair ram before.. but I want like 20k+ scores, will gtx 260 216core give that to me considering my current bench scores?

I will probably just wait till the summer when gtx 260's are under $200 and pick up a couple for sli.

i doubt you'd get 20k with that CPU. I think people told me i could get to 19k if i OC both my card and CPU a lot (i get around 14500-152003dmarks at stock)

I'm getting 16.5k typically, although past couple days been a struggle with new ram.. and that's with 8800 gt sli 690/1725/950

hah funny, I couldn't get an oc from the memory so i leave at 950.. I would put to 1000mhz and see absolutely no difference for better or worse, the core got unstable at 720+ and 690 seemed to be the peak, and shadow was 1725 because next step up on evga prec. tool is 1782 or something and that's just a bit unstable.. good cards they've been..

I suppose I'll wait to see what this summer brings, as far as low prices for upgrades.. I think 260 core 216 sli and upgrade my ram to 1066's and probably get a new chip..
