Grrr issues

rebuild didn't work could it be the cpu has a problem? in turn would that mean it shouldn't even start up?

Do you have any old components you can try the different parts with?

Yes I have a complete build in spare parts its just that it would take so excessively long to swap them around, and I am nowhere near confident on what works! After the rebuild the computer did work better for a little (not long enough to install win 7 though) while then decided it hated me again. Also my spare htpc build I am not entirely sure works as it is a little unstable and occasionally won't start up, think it may be because I have not mounted the cpu (stock intel one) properly but tried a couple of times now with no stable boot. The htpc has a 8800gts 640mb, E6600, 1gb of corsair xms2 ram, 430W antec truepower2 , 1hdd and 3 fans I don't think thats too much pressure on the psu but still no dice got up to 12% on the win 7 install and it died.
