I would not get a 9800GX2... get the 9800GTX if you aren't going to upgrade again for some time or the 8800GTS 512 if you plan to upgrade in 6 month or less.

The 9800gx2 is a big joke. I have heard the new ones are coming out June 18th... you will see just how junky this card is... like buying a Honda Civic with a supercharger and a bad pipe or buying a 1967 Shelby GT 500 Cobra with Flow masters and a supercharger...

You guys know what I mean.

269 you say ... ok, in my head I must have taken an extra 30 off. 269, still worth it, and I get better framerates than you Veedub because I am oc'ing mine, and 22" monitor at 1680x1050, my max. And Veedub, 800/2000/2450 (effective) is what I'm oc'ing mine at atm and smooth as silk, just be prepared for the fan noise.

what does 800/2000/2450 mean ?

also what would perform better:

SLI 9600GT or single 9800GTX ?? I can get them for about the same price...

Ya i figured it was your resolution. 1920x1200 is hard on the card.

It means I'm overclocking the core clock to 800, shader to 2000, and memory to 1225 (on this board that's effectively 2450, doubled).

I don't use SLI since folks here told me I really won't notice the difference unless I went to a monitor 24"+ and higher resolution than 1680x1050. If yougo with the 22" monitor, get the 9800gtx and OC it. If you get 24"+ monitor, someone that knows more about SLI has to answer that.

Read the numbers brew is getting with his GTX. Now, show me a 8800GTS that will get you those numbers, for 269 bucks. Me and brewabeer bought gtx's because we got them for a really good price.
