ok, ill put the money into a waiting for new graphics card fund. I know there isnt a release date, but isnt it 'supposedly' going to come out the end of july?

The nda is supposed to be lifted on the 17th, card is for sale the 18th "supposedly". Also, ste, the new nvidia card wont be a gx2, its going to be far too big and hot to sammich. Its supposed to be another giant monstrousity like the 8800gtx was. Man i cant wait.

Yeah the thermal envelope of the 280 is already 236w...can't see them sammiching that one until they do a significant die shrink.

Well, thats probably overstated somewhat like the gx2 is. Supposedly the gx2is 250w.

Thermal envelopes are not overstated. It's a specification, and the GX2 has a tdp of 197W

Once again, a 4870 512mb that performs better then a 9800gx2 for $245 or less?

Nvidia really needs to prove to me that they need my money on this one, because I think I'm about to spend the best $250 or less dollars of my life.

As long as it doesnt perform on paper and crap in real games like the 2900 did And if i recall correctly, the 4870 is going to be closer to 450.
