To my knowledge yes. The anandtech benchmark did not cover overclocking.

So the 4870 1GB beats the GTX 260 core 216?

It's a better deal anyways because it is cheaper, or will be cheaper.

Since they tested 6 games and we are looking at 2 resolutions that gives us 12 possible tests, of which the HD 4870 1gb wins 11. In my opinion there is no way winning 11:1 can be considered equal.

in the core 216's defense nvidia also has new drivers out. forceware 182

I find it strange that the RV770 card didn't do as well in COD5. To my knowledge, COD5 is based on COD4's engine, which RV770 did very well in.

Perhaps Nvidia has them producing, erm... "optimisations", kinda like in Crysis.

Well I find my 4870 1GB faster at stock than my GTX 280 was in pretty much everything, the most notable is in CoD4. The minimums were poo with the GTX 280 and my old 512mb 4870 was faster even at 2048x1152 with 4xAA
