Yeah I've made my decision, I'm going with the gtx 260 because I'm more familiar with the line. Thanks for all your help guys, you've helped me so much.

And thanks Puddle Jumper for showing me the 4870, I didn't think much of Radeon before, but now I know better.

its been generally accepted that the 4870 1gb is slightly better, though for me i would go the gtx260 route just because of the 4870 heat issues (i know are easily fixed) and i prefer nvidia driver support myself. You made a good decision.
