Any of the video cards that have been listed in this thread (and any high end video card) will work just fine with an i7.

NOOOOO. The EVGA you pick out is the core192. If you want the superclocked evga gtx260 get the one that I linked.

It has a little less graphics power though, although it is faster. Disregarding the price difference, which one would be best?

Um, they mean the same thing. The 4870 is usually cheaper while being slightly better.

The best answer I can give you is, either :P I went for a 260, while someone else I know went for a 4870; they're both great cards for their price.

The HD 4870 1gb is faster as in it performs better. I wasn't referring to the cards specifications.

Techgage - ATI HD 4870 1GB vs. NVIDIA GTX 260/216 896MB
Notice this is the 216 not the 192

Here is a nice comparison for you. They are close.
Some people like nvidia and some like ati and to some it does not matter.

4870's are right around the performance of the gtx260's. Graphics card Rankings

I would get whichever was cheaper. Unless you want to run fold on your computer, then I would spend a little extra on a gtx260 core216 since its a good bit faster at that.

This article uses newer drivers so the results are a little more accurate. It shows the Hd 4870 1gb beating the GTX 260 Core 216 in 11 of the 12 games they tested.
