Alright guys i'm kinda of a noob to all this but i've already got my CPU and Motherboard (Athlon 64 4400 X2, DFI Lanparty UT nF4 SLI-DR), but i can't decide on which graphics card to go with i'd really like to get the best bang for my buck so tell me what you guys would recommend. Also i do plan to OC possibly, maybe, perhaps(if i don't chicken out) in the future.

eVGA 7800GT-$300
eVGA 7800GTX-$400-$500
eVGA 7800GTX 512-$749

Pick whats in your pricerange.

ATI:

X800XT
X800XT PE
X850XT
X850XT PE
X1600XT
X1800XL
X1800XT

Nvidia:

6800GS
6800GT
78000GT
7800GTX

I don't advise the 7800GTX 512 because it has a short "life" and it's rediculously priced and you'd be even lucky to find one.

Yeah i guess i could wait but i would really like to finish it up and start using it. I really spent more than i wanted to on my CPU but thats allright. I'd say my price range for the graphics card is up to about $250 maybe more.

well what do you think about the 6600 GeForce GT 256MB for $185 is it a pretty descent card or no? i'd like to spend as close to 250 or lowwer if possible. By the way thanks for all the suggestions.

Well that card is an, ok card, but I don't think it will hold its own for a long time when the newer games start comming out.

Its a decent card but go for a 7800 GT 256MB, that will be a safer long term investment. But its $300 for it, it you can try to go that extra $50-$60 and get that 7800.

alright i was also suggested the Radeon x850 XT 256MB i found it for around 245 which is in my price range, is this a decent card? I want to save as much as i can. I'm still also looking at the 7800 GT 256 but will it really be that much of a noticeable difference if i don't get that card?
