GPU Considerations. Builders read.
By now, most probably know me to recommend eVGA due to the fact that they have top notch CS and make rock solid Nvidia product. Now I have another reason.
Another thing to consider is manufacturers like Gainward/Palit, Asus (most recent), and a few others are starting to put stickers on the screws holding the heatsink down. What this means, is if you take them off, you void your warranty.
By now, we should all know that simply taking your heatsink and shroud off doesn't void the warranty, and neither does using a water block if you keep the stock heatsink and hardware. (Fry the card, replace heatsink, send it in and they know no difference). By adding these stickers these companies are essentially making it more difficult for you to do anything with your card. That includes cleaning and repasting as their stock paste is piled on and dries up quickly.
From what I'm being told, eVGA will not start doing this due to their customer base being largely enthusiasts. So that's another +1 to eVGA. I also recommend them largely because of their consistent use of reference coolers which leave your card straight (no sag) and you can use any water block on the market made for a reference board.
Few things to think about before making a difference choice of GPU brand. At this time I do not know if AMD partners are following suit, but I'll post here if they do.
