Got my new stuff-got issues

I finally got my new monitor, a Samsung XL2370 LED backlit, 1920x1080 23".

I also installed my new XFX XXX edition 5870.

Games like FEAR, L4D2, Crysis, and Bioshock all seem to work like they're supposed to...except my favorite game, UT2004.

Yep, UT2004 used to run at a near-steady 80+ fps with my HD 4830 and now I'm lucky to get 35 fps.

Also, it seems like the refresh rate of the monitor, (60hz) is kinda low compared to my NEC 90gx2 which could do a very nice 75hz. Believe it or not, I notice quite a difference.

So far, I'm not at all happy with the $750 "upgrade" that I just made.


I guess I'm looking for advice, especially on the low fps thing in UT2004 and wondering if I may be overlooking something.

UT4k just won't be designed to work with the current ATi drivers. The best you can hope for is installing the latest patch for it, probably.

I am not sure what the problem is, but I still play UT2004 from time to time and with the GTX260 the frames are thru the roof....so your card should eat that game up.

Yeah I have the latest patch, latest drivers, tried drivercleaner, even formatted the hdd. The card just won't run UT2004.
