Default Good laptop for $1200?

Ok I was looking online for a laptop and it seems that I couldnt find a good one for $1200 but a friend told me he sells computer parts super wholesale that are 40% cheaper than neweggs prices and he was right because a couple weeks ago I needed parts for my dads pc and ordered from him. He said any laptop I find he could sell me anywhere from 30% to 50% cheaper. Any ideas. I was thinking a 6800 and 1gb ram minimum but idk about cpu cause there are alot with different specs and act differently.

If there is anyway you can swing it with your budget, try to get one with a Yonah (aka Core Duo) CPU. It's like having the power of an X2 in a laptop
