Hi all,

I'm being offered the following system for $650, I'd appreciate reactions:

motherboard - ASUS A7M266-D
memory - CRUCIAL 2 x 512MB PC2100 DDR
hard drive - WESTERN DIGITAL 80GB 8MB Cache 7200 rpm ATA
video - NVIDIA geforce 4 ti4200
optical - ASUS 52x24x52 CDRW
zip drive - USB 2.0
case - ANTEC mid tower with 2 case fans and more then enough room to expand.
processor fans - THERMALTAKE Volcano
power supply - ANTEC True Power 430 watts with 2 fans

What do people think? TIA

I should add that my main interests are not on the gaming side (ripping music and video editing).

500 tops. The ram is slow, the processors are slow, the video card sucks, the hard drive is average... I'm starting to talk myself down to 450 or even 400.

i would pass on this one, no dvd burner, and as FghtinIrshNvrDi said, slow memory and crappy video card. Decent hard drive but not enough space. Those Volcanoes should be variable speed, but they can run pretty loud.

Also, since you are interested in video editing, you will have to purchase additional hardware like another hard drive for more space and more memory would be recommended as well

not bad, it is an AMD (Go Intel!) um I'd try and drop it to $600.
