I have a scythe mine heatsink, it is lapped as well as the processor, MX-2 is the thermal paste, I hit 68C max load @ 3.7 Ghz.

That being said, there is a basic design for many good heatsinks, mostly copper, lots of heat pipes and fins.... Can't really go wrong if you stick to that..

What do you mean when you say lapped?

using sandpaper to smooth out the bottom of the cpu and the bottom of the heatsink
if you do it right you will get better temps
