hrmm very interesting.. i wonder what they've done to make the oc potential higher than that of a 4850 when they are identicle... perhaps it comes volted higher than the 4850?

Maybe since the 4830 is just a 4850 with with 160 disabled shaders and a lower core clock. Its possible that the native core clock was meant to be on par with the other 4850's. Which would explain why it would over clock as high as the 4850.

Dude jst search google, every site will recomend hd4830 over 9800gt.

But like he said his friend doesn't like ATI. It just depends on his motherboard, budget, and past expierence. We just recommend which one is the best performance/price.
